Catch Up
In collaboration with AFD Agence Française de Développement, this project assists out-of-school children and those facing financial barriers to education in Nigeria.
Operating within the Jikoko and Tundun Wada communities, Catch Up utilized the transformative power of art to instigate a systematic shift towards quality education.
Collaborative efforts entailed closely working with the young participants to create art using recycled materials and exploring diverse mediums for creative expression, all while emphasizing the significance of education.
With a foundation in personal experiences and empathy for street children, Catch Up utilized art as a tool to engage and communicate with these vulnerable youths. Thanks to AFD's sponsorship, the initiative covered full school session expenses for participating children.
The resulting artworks were exhibited at both the Thought Pyramid Art Gallery and Orisun Art Gallery in Abuja alongside pieces by established artists, serving as a source of motivation and inspiration. Notably, the initiative successfully facilitated the return of 30 children to school for the entire term.
